The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan

50. Titles of other books by this author, including sequels? How were these stories similar/different?

Rick Riordan has written many books for kids and adults. I have read majority of the kids books and none of the adult books. His most famous series is now known as the Percy Jackson series. The books in that series are (in order) The Lightning Theif, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian. He also has two other series. One of the series  has all of the  characters from the Percy Jackson series. The other series is called The Kane Chronicles. The series with the characters from the Percy Jackson series currently has  three books but he is writing another book to add to that series. The books in that series are called The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune and The Mark of Athena. The next book in that series is going to be called The House of Hades. The books in The Kane Chronicles are called The Red Pyramid, The Thorne of Fire and The Serpent's Shadow.

The differences between the Percy Jackson series and the series with the same characters is that in the  Percy Jackson series there are only Greek demi-gods whereas with the other series there are Greek and Roman demi-gods. The difference between the Kane Chronicles and the other series is that the Kane Chronicles is about Egyptian legends and like I said before the other series are about Greek/Roman legends.

The other children book he has written is called 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones. I am not going put down the names of the adult books because I'm pretty sure that if your reading this that you are not interested in adult books.

Out of Sight, Out of Time by Ally Carter

40. Theme: What was the author showing about life and living through this story?

In my opinion, the author is trying to tell the reader that there are somethings you are better off not knowing. I think that because one of the main characters in the book, is trying to figure out what happened to her during the summer. The character doesn't know what happened during the summer because she lost her memory. By the end of the book the character  learns that she was better off not knowing what had happened.

If you want to know why she was better off not knowing, the READ THE BOOK!!! Before you read this book you should read the rest of the series. The order the series is in is I'd Tell You I Love You but then I'd Have To Kill You, then Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy, the book after that is called Don't Judge A Girl by Her Cover, next is Only the Good Spy Young and finally, Out of Sight Out of Time. All of these books are by Ally Carter. The theme of this book is not the same as the rest of the series. The theme of the rest of the series is that everyone has a secret.

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHY SHE WAS BETTER OFF NOT KNOWING CONTINUE READING BUT BE WARNED IT IS A SPOILER!!!!

Ok, I guess if you are reading this then you must really badly want to know why she was better off not knowing. The reason she was better off not knowing is because she was tortured and hypnotized by the villains in the book. Also, when she found out what happened to her during the summer, she found out that her dad who she thought was missing was actually dead. He was murdered by the villains.

The Last Hope by Erin Hunter

Do you think the title fits the book? Why or why not?

I think the title fits the book because many times in the book they talk about the Four being the last hope for all of the cats. In some ways it is kind of annoying that they constantly repeat the title over and over and over but it also makes it obvious that the title fits the book.

The part of the title "the last hope" says a lot about the book. It tells the reader that the main group of people are facing a challenge that is so dangerous that they end up having to put all their hope on a few of the people. It also tells the reader that the book is must likely the last book in the series.

The other part of the title "warriors: omen of the stars" tells the reader that this book talks a lot about the prophecies that StarClan sends to the warrior clans. Also it tells the reader that the book is part of the Warrior series.

The Whim Of The Dragon by Pamela Dean

29. Conclusion: How did the author leave readers? Was the ending satisfying?

This was the first book I have ever read that the author did not leave room to add another book into the series. She left the reader at a point where it is obvious that nothing else interesting could have happened. I kind of wonder why she did not leave room for another book.

In my opinion, the end of the book was very satisfying. Like I said in the first paragraph, the author ended the book at a point where nothing was not explained or left hanging. There is only one thing I wish she would have added. I would put into the blog but it could give away too much about the ending of the book.I really enjoyed that the author did not leave out any information and did not leave the reader wondering what could have happened if there was another book in the series.

You probably noticed that I mentioning that the book is in a series. The other books in the series are The Secret Country and The Hidden Land. The order the the books go is The Secret Country, then The Hidden Land, and last but not least The Whim Of The Dragon.
